You have captured an active moment in this action and I really like the color of the drape.   Unfortunately your contrast is so great that the highlights overwhelm your image. I can tell you were after the dramatic but this pushes the envelope.

And, as a special delegate of the appendage police I must give you a warning ticket for cutting off feet, especially of a dancer.

The lighting ratios seem extreme to me. The highlights are rather blown out compared to the rest of the skintones. Her left arm is very hot, as is the spot on her right breast.

I tried converting the image to grayscale, lowering the contrast and adjusting the curves. Personally I think this is a more flattering rendition than the original.

Hi Niki. I like everything about this portrait except one thing. Her feet are cut off! If it is not possible to include them I would then opt to crop below her knee. I think it would look much better. Otherwise a remarkable and beautiful shot with a splendid pose and lighting. Regards . . . john

I love Scott's black and white version rather more that yours. To my eyes yours seem to have overbearing highlights, so a little less light and a bit more contrast would make for a fine image.

Niki, this is nice. The scarf really adds a touch of flamboyance and colour. It accentuates her body beautifully as she does her burlesque strut. The colours are beautiful, it is well composed, and it has a theatrical feel. I like her haughty expression. I wish you had kept her feet in the picture. I see them in a pair of magenta red heels.
