There is something that is still shining even in the lost civilizations! Unfortunately the fortune seekers like the conquistadors and Romans almost totally extinguished that fire and the archeologists had to dig and dig later in order to see what that light looked like exactly or approximately! And all the poor minded bastards whose first and last idea is to burn and destroy something worthwhile "blame" their gods for what they did and swear that they did it in their name (some of them, lately mention names like freedom and democracy)! So the wheel of history rolls around and the same thing happens again and again. God knows how that light would have shined if there weren't empty belies, heads with no content between the ears and fat vanity!
