Fading Foliage

Wow, what an explosion of colors.  These colors are pretty intense, but I've never witnessed autumn in a deciduous forest.  I particularly like the white tree trunks in the background and the limb patterns in the foreground -- they really add a lot of interest to what otherwise would be "just" a splash of colors.

Thank you for your comments. That's what caught my eye also ...the birch amongst the colors :)

This is a stunner Leslie! I really like the mix of fall foliage and the ambient blues of the tree limbs. Now I will always find something to nit, just the way I am. When viewed Larger, it appears that  some noise reduction softening has occurred, but I can't tell for sure. Possibly even a brushstroke filter? Surely not a major observation and it has it's own quality, but when I view the larger preview, I may be looking for more sharpness. I guess what I am saying is that if it was intentional, then it looks right, but if it wasn't, then it looks amiss. Beyond that, it is really exceptional!

This is fantastic!  The birches almost take on a purplish-blue tone, and the contrast with the fall colors is extraordinary!  I hadn't seen your work for awhile, and I can be assured that I'll always find interesting and/or beautiful stuff here.  :-)
