The light was soft and was in and out of the clouds throughout the morning. It is the perfect light for fall foliage and because the previous evening was soaked with showers, the palette of colors was maximized. I waited at this set up for a long while, patiently waiting for a brightening of light among the trees. Meanwhile, my 6 year old daughter, Kennis, continued to ask when I would be done. It's not because she is 6 years old, it's just that anyone who is not a photographer would have been asking the same question. "Not much longer" I answered, and then it raked across the the trees for a moment, then was gone. On to the next composition and a repeat of the same process. My daughter is a real trooper!

Thanks Pierre for being the only comment so far! You are an artist of good taste. I am particularly puzzled by this one. After working it up, I thought it had good potential. This is a more intimate look at the aspens I encountered, and I think the whole palette here is exceptional. Still, my friends here are disappointed that I didn't have violent ocean waves breaking in the background or perhaps a scantily clad female lying across that granite boulder!

Mark, I admire your talent in capturing the great colors in a nice composition.

Excellent.

Best Regards, Doug
