Twig Artistry

Yes it has! The DOF is well present, but the FG is very beautiful. It  can be the autumn or the spring when some leaves either rested or starting to bloom....I like the movement and floow of the stems as if in space..... good experiment in B/W.

It caught my eye immediately. Even though this is a beautiful and creative image I would make a small change which is strictly a personal preference. I would use an adjustment layer and darken the three in-focus leaves just a tad. Still a beautiful image.

Yeah and then crop it just a little to bring it in.

Random natural pattern against a dark BG attractive. Shallow DOF. Use of flash created the drama by brightening the branches and leaves.  You can play with it many ways. Consider a narrow aperture  and lower intensity of flash may be 1/3rd. Regards, ifti.

This almost seems like a lightning strike.  I like how it crackles against the dark background.

I very much like it as it is, Christal -- There are some small visible details on the 3 leaves in focus, and I also appreciate the (almost) mirror image of the other 3 blurry leaves. An original take, I think. & A pure, and simple composition with very good B&W tones as well. Compliments!  Best regards, Marjolein

Theres nothing I'd want to change here, the stark contrast is well depicted, and instantly conveys an atmosphere of winter. Simple but very effective, and very well seen,

Christal, nice capture of a very intricate subject. Just that one long twig that ends in the bottom of the photo is slightly distracting, inevitably leading my eyes out of the frame. May be that was your intention, to lead us around, and then back to the top? Well, it works that way pretty good.
