Help me..

The picture is basically a good one: lighting, pose, focus.  However which of the following do you think people will ask?

1. How did you find hands like that?

2. What did you do to make his hands look like that?

I think most will ask question 2 and not 1, meaning that you overdid the post processing special effects (my guess is you did Clarity to too high a level) - but they keep coming out with new software with new names for the effects.

You might think of trying something that works well for me.  I make two identical layers of the image before trying such effects.  Then I apply the effect to the upper layer until it looks just right.  Then I reduce the upper layer from 100% to lower values.  I almost always find that I started out overdoing the effect and the blend of two layers looks better.  When happy I flatten the file into one layer and save it.
