Guest Guest Posted October 18, 2010 I absolutely love the way that this converted to BW. The contrast of the tree against the darker trees in the background is stunning. Would love to see the original in color. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 18, 2010 many thanks for your favourable comment :-) - here's the colour version attached - in this case it is to me less interesting than the B/W version. The postprocessing I applied was aimed at creating a B/W version and here I just removed the final steps of converting to B/W and toning.cheers, Wolfgang Link to comment
divo 0 Posted October 18, 2010 Great conversion. Oddly enough, what really intrigues me is those swirling lines at the top (the trees and rock face.) The tones and textures in the swirls have a mezmerizing Van Gough-like quality to them. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted October 20, 2010 Thanks for posting the color version Wolfgang. I like that to but I agree with you that the bw version is the way to go with this photo. Very nice work. I generally have trouble seeing such bright colors and thinking in terms of BW so seeing this as an example will certainly make me think differently when I view my own pictures in the future. vincenzo_corbo 0 Posted July 9, 2011 I really like the background, and how the lonely tree is well placed in the composition. Good and nice tone. Link to comment
