Great composition and fantastic lighting. Beautiful colours and great detail. Love the diagonal ray of lighting from the upper right corner leading to the subject. Well done.

Fantastic light and image.  One could expect to find this in the pages of Nat Geo. Excellent composition. The darker area give a sense of perspective and dimension to this image. Well done - michel

i think photography is all about the light, and this is a good example for this. maybe the best Meteora shot ive seen. excellent.

i would tilt it about 1 degrees counter-clockwise because i have a feeling it is crooked a bit but still it worth a 7p .

Aha, Marianna, you went shooting there. A great result achieved with these rays I have to say.

My favorite photo.net threat about Meteora images is for the one posted by my classmate, Slava Epstein (http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2024905).  Some dude decided that his photo was a composite and accused him of bad blending technique, a very intertaining exchange. But seriously, I really enjoy your interpretation. Cheers, Vadim

Thank you all for comments and ratings.

Meteora is just such spectacular and special place. I sat on the edge of the rock from where  you can see the panoramic view of almost the whole place and just enjoyed the view and a perfect day. It felt almost as I was flying above the valley.

I am glad that I went without a car (did not realize that one now needs international driver license in Greece) , so I would get a ride up and then walk around and down and see the scenery unfold. I would love to go back and hike more among the rocks the next time and go to the ruins of the other monasteries.

Vadim, thank you for the link!

Best regards,

Marianna

Great balance between shadows and lights adds a pinch to the picture composition. This lovely image goes to my favs.
