guillelobera 0 Posted October 17, 2010 You can see at the background several portraits of primates of thecollection ánima of photographer Fernando Maquieira exposed inthe streets of Algorta-Getxo during Getxophoto 2008. Ánima, is a body of work that is reflective of life and death.A number of concepts related to beginnings and endings are dealt withwithin this project: someone kills an animal, the taxidermistsensationalizes the life, the photographer / artist captures theappearance of life, and the spectator contemplates the image, alreadya moment in the past. The moment has ceased: it is dead. Maquieira is a Spanish photographer who documented the samples ofstuffed primates in a Belgian museum of Natural History's basement. Link to comment
