The Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish: Sultanahmet Camii) is a historical

mosque in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of the

Ottoman Empire (from 1453 to 1923). The mosque is popularly known as

the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.

It was built between 1609 and 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I. Like

many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a

madrasah and a hospice. While still used as a mosque, the Sultan Ahmed

Mosque has also become a popular tourist attraction. Thanks for comments.

Thank you very much for your comment , You are right about tripod but fortunately I was around 7am in the mosque and there was nobody there except a man who was cleaning the Mosque so I used my tripod without any problem.

I have lived in Izmir and travelled to Istanbul on occasion, but never had the chance to visit the Blue Mosque.  Thanks for sharing.  Your image is well composed shows the details quite well.  Congratulations on producing a very nice image.
