Great to see the whole alley Art! Your 'darkness' always is highlighted by very beautiful digital light painting.  The front of the building to the right almost reminds me of a 'street car' or 'Graffiti Bus' due to the 3d appearance of the painting, almost as if the front of the building is 'groaning forward'.

I keep wondering if I could learn to do this in Elements or if you have to have CS in order to aid you.  I imagine the biggest accomplishment is your natural and learned skills, but I am continually fascinated by your work.  The perspective is amazing, along with the detail along the side of the buildings that draws the eye to the paintings of the back building.  Wonderful work Art, I've come to expect no less of you, to the point I'd worry if with each new piece there was not something new you'd accomplished.

Well done, have yourself a grande weekend, Gail

Oh this is great!  I would totally hang this in my studio!  Fantastic job!  Love the blacks with the contrasting colors, the wet feel to the alley...very cool!

Ahhh, old school Art X!  I was perusing your portfolio a few weeks ago and noticed the extraordinary diversity of your latest work but kind of missed some of what originally drew me to it years ago.

Stunning urban images like this, I've always admired your graffiti photographs and even been inspired by them... this one is no exception.  I think what amazes me most in this particular shot is the evenness of the reflected light on the wet asphalt.  My experience tells me that the only way to achieve this would be with a massive, diffuse light source but that would be an unrealistic solution here so it has to be your processing and vision.  I agree with Gail regarding the apparent motion of the building on the right, it does present that illusion.

I have nothing negative to say about this, it's completely fascinating and involving.  I could wander through the image for hours.

Gail:

thank you for your visit. As always, your interpretation of my work is pleasing to read. I don't have much experience with Elements software or whether it allows you to achieve equal results to CS but I believe you are more than capable of achieving the results you see here. I spent a lot of time learning through trial and error to familiarise myself with photoshot. I think that is where the trick of photo editing lies. I might also add here that I recently purchased a Nikon D700 which helps achieve 'clearer/cleaner' results (as opposed to my other work with the D80) making my editing task that much easier in some respects (this is the first image posted with the D700). Once again thank you

Fabrizio/Kim/Hamid/Anne:

thank you for your visit, nice words and ratings support. I appreciate the feedback.

Jeff:

good to see you again mate, thanks for the visit. As you know I try to experiment, diversify, learn and ensure ,where possible, I don't remain driven or drawn to one particular genre of photography, hence the diversity you see. In regards to the shot, I was lucky with the low, even morning light and wet weather conditions which helped me enhance the light through editing to give it the defused light source effect (well spotted and interpreted). I wasn't overly happy with the effect of the morning light sky (in the background) so I decided to 'invert' it to give the appearance of night which I feel gives this shot it's effectiveness.

thanks again for your visit

My first reaction was where is the topic of the picture. My eyes went to the end of the alley.  And then moved to the gravity of the on the right.  It is this dynamic which makes it for me a strong picture.

Well Done,

Ben

After a long break I`m back on the PN again.

I absolutely love your technique and creativity in photogracic art. Unique and beautiful. Wonderful atmosphere and lighting and even if I don`t like graffiti you have made it look beautiful in this fine image.

Take good care my friend and all the best from Jannica

Interesting work, Art, I like this one slightly more than the other. I generally hate space distortions, but here your approach to exaggerate it in order to make the whole scene look surreal worked exceptionally well. Best, VA
