the exposure ran away from you a bit.  As to light, this was a difficult scene to begin with.  As a result the big church is overexposed, and the shadow parts are too dark.  It would be easy to brighten up the shadows with the right tool, but the blown part is gone.  HDR would be more suitable in this case.  Cheers, Micheal
