hopsage 0 Posted October 14, 2010 Hiking back to camp from a morning of shooting the sunrise, I found this nearly-complete whitebark pine snag, still hanging on to a large granite boulder. Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted October 14, 2010 You got a great eye John. You lost something in the scan, but still a nice shot. Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted October 14, 2010 Thank you, Jim. What are you thinking of as being "lost"? (Serious question: I think my ability with the scanner is the weakest link in my chain of skills). Link to comment
peter.blum 0 Posted October 15, 2010 Hi John,Interesting and fun. To see and immortalize the small seemingly insignificant detail, is a great skill of the photographer. You did it with this one. I also like the tonality as well as the background here. All the best Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 16, 2010 I really love this. I've taken several similar shots (not loaded yet), and I plan to put them in a category entitled 'Mother Nature's artistry'. Indeed, nature can really be a show-off sometimes. :-) The natural shapes, textures, colors, and detail are really outstanding.....plus I can find half a dozen shapes of things within this. Do you see the platypus or the serpent or the beak of an ibis? I also love the 3 limbs all leaving different portions of the frame. Well done.....Chris Harris would be proud of you with this intimate landscape. Link to comment
