I must see in my paper vocabulary what abstract means, where the word comes from for I maybe have all the time categorized my pictures in a wrong category! Some people categorize in abstracts some recognizable details of some objects, some do loony baloney...etc. I'm going right away to see...ciao amico mio!

1. Considered apart from concrete existence: an abstract concept.
2. Not applied or practical; theoretical. See Synonyms at theoretical
3. Difficult to understand; abstruse: abstract philosophical problems.
4. Thought of or stated without reference to a specific instance: abstract words like truth and justice.
5. Impersonal, as in attitude or views.
6. Having an intellectual and affective artistic content that depends solely on intrinsic form rather than on narrative content or pictorial representation: abstract painting and sculpture.

P.S. There isn't such a word in my paper vocabulary!

Hi Dave.

I do not know complete definition of abstract, but I think better placement of yours work in digital art. In  abstract every think chaotic, does not have any logic and connections. It can be every thing from single dot to random lines, spots, colors... What I seen in your presentations of this type, that it does have logic, it does have forms, that some how interact between each other, colors itself  have play important role. With colors you know how to apply one or another. Another word your art does have some sort of logic that exists in your imagination... Once again, thanks for sharing with us your unique work.

With all my best,

Grigoriy

Hi Grigoriy,

Thanks for you in-depth comment.  Unfortunately, photo.net does not have a Digital Art or other suitable category for images like this. This is not, in my mind, Fine Art or a Digital Alteration, which brings us back to Abstracts.

I have mentioned this 'problem' to the admins, but they are hesitant to add any, as they see it, non-photo category.

Thanks again,

Dave
