Guest Guest Posted October 13, 2010 Aleksandar,I am not sure if "Poison" is a nickname for the girl or if you are referring to her rather venomous expression? Either way she is a very pretty girl with quite the sensual expression. You have focused very well on her piercing eyes. She has great eye contact with the camera (viewer). Her make-up is very good. The eyeliner under her eyes really helps to make them stand out. The soft romantic lighting is very nice. Her skin tone, the contrast and color saturation are excellent. The background is nicely out of focus and she is well separated from it.I wish she was wearing a different top. My eyes are pulled from her face to the bold pattern (with red in it!) of her top. A less obtrusive top would work better.I prefer a single catchlight in each eye. The small multiple catchlights draw me to her eyes for the wrong reasons. They are distracting and I wonder what is in front of her for her to get those strange reflections in her eyes. Perhaps a luminous alien creature? At least, from her expression, it would be quite a likable alien.Your far right placement of your subject might work for a commercial, editorial or perhaps even a beauty shot, but I would not use is for a portrait. I would want more room in front of her so that she was facing into the picture, not out of it. This subject placement makes for a very right heavy composition. A compositional "rule" suggests that you place the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. By positioning the tip of her nose in the vertical center of the photograph you not only have her facing into the picture, but you have good left and right compositional balance.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment
