marc_dilley1 0 Posted October 28, 2010 Some tiny forest mushrooms that caught my attention while on a shootin my local mountains. The sun was just peeking through evergreenfoliage and illumination and shadows changed constantly. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted October 29, 2010 Nicely done. There is a diffused glow on the mushrooms and other portions of the image and I am still trying to decide if I like that. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted October 29, 2010 Tony: Yes, I'm still trying to decide if I like the glow, too. Which is why I wanted some opinions. The light on these little guys was very soft, just a hint of sunlight through some Doug Fir. The sun was of course moving so the beam patterns were too, so I kept making exposures (this is actually a blend, too). Back at the computer I was disappointed that none of the shots had that soft, velvety look. I must have 10 hours in this shot, trying to get back that feeling. What you see includes a couple of different glow techniques (selectively masked) plus a bit of Orton. It's heavy-handed but IMHO is better than w/o. It's difficult to believe, but the image, including the mushroom caps, retains full detail even with the glows. At 100% there is amazing detail. Link to comment
w-j-li 0 Posted April 11, 2011 Enen simple but well composed. The mushrooms lined up diagonally which make the picture more attractive. The light is very good and soft. Learning. Best regards, Link to comment
