Alberto, congratulations on your new acquisition, looks like you are going to be able to produce just as good and better images with less effort. I like the absence of horizon due to the soft mist and the mirrored triangles of the green foreground and a more subtle one in the sky. Well composed. Best regards. Peter

Excellent image Alberto. I like the mood in this photo. The balance of tones and forms is subtle but very effective.  The darker tones of the trees to the left against the larger area of bright tones in the sky works perfectly.  Nice composition and very compelling image. Regards - michel

Thank you for your nice comment!

Peter, this is one of my very first shots with the Canon 5D II and I'm impressed with the results: for sure it beats the film + Nikon scanner combo with less effort... But it's only a tool and I'm happy that you a continuity in my style...

Alberto.

Whatever Photoshop hanky panky you've used on this one it's transparent to the viewer, and that's a good sign.  You've captured a rare early morning moment and presented it beautifully.  Unless it's a deep dark secret I'll bet others, myself included, would love to know the technique for producing a frame like this one.  Best, LM.

Thank you, Len, for your nice comment.

The role of Photoshop in this image was very limited: I used it to blend two different exposures of the same scene, one for the sky and one for the ground... A subtle adjustment in Lightroom on the raw files and that's the result. I was too tempted to boost the contrast as we used to see in many images, but I would have lost the mood of the scene.

It's not easy to explain how I built the frame: you need a lot o patience in Photoshop to create different layers with different effects (e.g. shadows) and expand the canvas of the right amount of pixels... Just remember to record these steps in an action, so you can easily run it many times with less effort.

Regards, Alberto.
