I have seen this man for about 6 month now. This is the first time

traffic has permitted me to take this series of images. I ask him if I

could post his image in the digital Miami Herald and he say yes.

During the few seconds I talk to him he sounded educated and a

gentel individual. I contributed and wish him well. I will try to talk to

him more in the future. Thank you for looking. Rates/Comments

appreciated.

I find this individual very composed and stoic. He does not avoid eye contact and when he met my eyes I felt his struggle for survival. He was very cal and traquil, thanking with a smile to those contributing.

The individual in this image represent humanity separating and saying that each one of us is resposible for our survival! However we all have to help each other make it!!!

expressive and humane... very well said... this time i'm more moved by your words than the images, good as they are... we live in a very self-engrossed world

Hola jorge.

jorge,

As engrossing and passionate as your words are, remember that here you function as a photographer and want to make the image tell the tale.  I like the sheer bulk of your subject and I like reading his sign.  However by using a lessor depth of field you could have eliminated the clutter of the background by throwing it out of focus and bring full attention to him.  You could have illuminated his face with flash fill so we could see the shadow side and especially you could have captured eye contact so we could look into this man's being and see the torment.  Pictures are worth a thousand words.

I like what Jerry said but I look at this a little differently.  I see the surroundings playing an important part in this doccumentary.  The man's torment is present in this field surrounded by traffic.  He's trying to draw attention to his and his famlilies plight so the envorenment is all part of it.  Trying to hide it may lessen it's purpose.

The dak face and lack of eye contact adds to the image as well.  This is clearly not a proud moment in the man's life and your treatment and his stature make that come through all the way.  Well done and nicely presented.

Hello Jorge,

You have hit on a subject that all can relate to and I, like Rajat said earlier, am more moved by your words and feelings than these particular images, fine as they are. I think your point would hit home even more if you showcased a few different people but you have touched on what we are all worried about. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Holger
