A retooled image from October of 2008. My original plans were to go to the Eastern Sierra near Bishop for fall foliage. Plans change. The peak had passed along Bishop Creek, so we ventured north of Sacramento to Plumas county, known for it's variety of autumn splendor. This was taken the first morning along the North Fork of the Feather River. The light was soft and painterly, but my original post was darker and edgier, so I am re-visiting this one. Hopefully an improvement. Don't forget to click on the Larger preview!

Very pretty, so peaceful and soothing. The mist , beautiful lighting and lovely autumnal coloring just draw me into this image, the more I look, the more detail my eyes pick out...but never want to leave the frame. Excellent work Mark

Warm regards, Pamela

As only you can do it!!!  Amazing!  I wouldn't ordinarily recommend getting rid of the few little pieces of debris in the water, but this shot is so perfect that for some reason they distract a little (at least in the larger view).

Thanks Robert, Steve, Pedro, Apurva, Mike, Harry, David, Pamela, Pierre and Christal! Seems unanimous, this is a well received landscape. Thanks Christal, I agree, the little floaties detract from the harmonious feel of this image. I will clean up the master, but I doubt I will re-post a clean version. Let's just call it "duly noted". Thanks everyone!!

You did it right -- excellent and balanced composition, right amount of color saturation, excellent representation of far away hills through haze. Success! Thanks for sharing. :-)

this landscape looks really nice.  One of the best separations between the BG and the MG/FG - not only it clearly shows the depth, but also the colour contrast is great, and the BG gives context without fighting for attention with the MG/FG.  The slight mist adds some spice.  Dude, there must be some V8 circulating in your veins.  Cheers, Micheal

you made a perfect exposure and great composition, and succeeded to render the essence of that place.

the place, the scenery its nice but not something spectacular, and this thing reflects a bit in the overall impact of the photo, which is rather good than excellent - at least in my opinion. but it was worth the effort, as it is really challenging to get a great photo from an average scene, and you done a great job here.
