Grigoriy, interesting composition, strongest from flower downwards. to me the top bud is odd man out, everything is smooth as silk when looking at iris until you reach that bud, being as is only bit of both flower and stem out of focus it becomes more noticeable and to me at least distracts from what otherwise is a really nice image.

Interesting image, I like the subdued treatment here but wonder if you're having some of the same problems that I am with uploaded images and brightness. Some of mine appear darker on the site.. like the pelican.

Anyway, I might tweak the brightness ever so slightly and I  think that cloning out that top piece (it looks dead) would bring focus to the bloom.

Recently in the 'digital darkroom' PN forum there was a discussion about the use of black background, personally I really like the way the background has isolated the Iris and its stems.  I think this composition would even be stronger without the leaves bottom left and the faint bits showing through at the top left and right.  I'm not sure how you process your images but this could be easily done in Photoshop.  Just to be clear, although I have made a suggestion, I still very much like this photo.

Hi Jim

Thank you for your review and suggestions. Actually I'm intentionally keep leafs in order to keep composition in balance. If I remove them, then it will create empty space on corners. But, I'm agree in complete dark background it will be even more interesting.

This is a really attractive flower portrait shot, nicely composed and with interesting light/color management, so different of ordinary and of special taste!

Its spot on! Bravo.

Hi Grigoriy. I really like the composition of this and I don't mind the leaves in the background as it gives the iris a sense of of place in a natural environment - in my opinion. Really nice work. Regards. Sarah
