dom1 1 Posted October 3, 2010 This photo was taken from the top of Haleakala on Maui. Looking over the clouds above the Alenuihaha Channel are the peaks of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. The light high in the photo, between the two peaks, is Waimea. The lower lights are Hawi, Kawaihai, and Kona. Link to comment

dom1 1 Posted February 27, 2011 Jose,The clouds are lighted by the moon. If you look at another of my photos, "Haleakala Full Moon", you will see the moon rising in the distance. The clouds have a similar coloration. Maybe it's because I'm shooting at 10,000+ feet of elevation and somewhat close to the equator. Link to comment
