Karl Schuler 48 Posted October 2, 2010 It is the tradition of the vast steppes of Mongolia to receive visitors in their ger (yurt) and to offer them milk tea and all kind of food. During our last trip through the Altai mountains in Western Mongolia we visited many families to discuss with them about the last winter when the Mongolian herders lost 8.5 million animals and to learn from them how to reduce the risk of further losses in the coming winter. Thanks for comments and rating. Karl Link to comment

jerrymat 3 Posted October 3, 2010 A wonderful image of another culture and just what I like in travel photos. I do notice that the green towel (?) to the left draws too much attention from the subject. Perhaps you should consider a vertical crop line to just eliminate it.Jerry Matchett Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted October 14, 2010 The towel doesn't fuss me a lot. I suspect that it would be best to tone it down a little but it's a nit to me. I enjoy these shots enormously. Karl takes us to places that we will never see and does an excellent job of documenting these places. Link to comment
sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted October 14, 2010 Karl, This is a very good travel photo, which is enriched with the expression of the lady and a cultural fervor. A colorful and attractive shot depicting typical Mongolian style of making milk tea. The bright Green color is not a distracter for me. Considering the point of photocomposition, the slanted vertical pole (just by the left of the lady’s head) is a botheration. But that is a part of the situation…. 6 … Best regards. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted October 31, 2010 I like this very much, the towel does not distract me, I would not change anything. Light, colors, composition, love everything. Very expressive. Hats off ! Link to comment
beverly_martin2 0 Posted December 2, 2017 How true is the color of her garment? The colors are so pure. Clean. Where are the colors muted by dust and wear? is she really this beautiful? Link to comment
