Saadsalem 74 Posted September 24, 2011 His shop is a pit one meter below the ground level,his oven is made from hay and mud,the chimney of which is three used oil barrels,he used hand made tools,and he made a primitive agricultural tool from dismantled cars parts and shafts. When I have asked him about his profession and how it is going to be extinct ,he answered me very proudly : Do not be afraid ,I have inherited this shop and the profession from my father ,and I will deliver it to my own two sons. He was the only one left in the whole of northern Iraq using the old traditional blacksmithing ,. Link to comment
