I've always enjoyed the juxtaposition of green and blue in landscapes.  I think this could have been a better photo if you would have tilted the camera down a little to eliminate some of the sky.  Placing the "horizon" near the center of the photo works in some cases but usually it's better to avoid this composition.  The tree on the right provides a second point of interest, but with nothing on the left it seems a little unbalanced.  Perhaps a tighter crop balancing the people and the tree might be an improvement.  Placing your main subject, the people in this case, in the center is also not usually advised.
