PLEASE NOTE: This reflection was made in Photoshop. While there

are often great reflections at this site, every time I tried to get this

image, it was windy and the water was not still.

Interesting. Nothing wrong with PS! You can try other things (and I'm just learning PS) like rectangle select bottom half and copy then choose layer- make new layer via copy and then treat the layer- e.g. first with satin then reduce vibrance and saturation and brightness, contrast.  If I can figure out how to do it, I'm attaching one option- not necessarily better- just an idea. Happy shooting and playing in PS!

Yinka, I greatly appreciated the disclosure.  I feel like Goldilocks here:  I can see that you have darkened the reflection ever so slightly, while Anne has darkened it considerably (BTW, I agree with the comments made by Anne; it's a matter now of how to treat the reflection).  I think you reflection is too light, while Anne's is too dark.  Having seen plenty of reflections, I think something a little darker than yours would be "just right" (i.e., Goldilocks would be happy).  I suppose one could also add a bit of blur so that the reflection wouldn't be an absolute mirror.  In the end, it's entirely subjective, and whatever you do should match your experience with scenes like this -- you know what the possibilities are, and if they aren't present on the day you took the photo, how can you recreate the scene in you mind via photoshop (if that's your goal)?  For me, reflections are (nearly always) somewhat darker than the source, and they are (almost) never quite as sharp as the source.  That would be my guiding experience, but mine may be different than yours (I've never been to the eastern U.S.).
