Great composition, I like your choice of angle to the sun here too, it gives nice light in the leafs and illuminate the bird in a great way.

excellent the light and the details. very nice shot

Good focus and excellent lighting.  it is difficult to get close to these birds, but it looks like you were successful.  Have you tried to crop the left edge slightly to get rid of large rock (?) in the center-left edge of photo?  My eye keeps focusing on that, but it should focus on the heron.  Overall a very good photo.

Bill, as an expert in birds (u demonstrate an awesome work) u have a point there.... the only reason for not having done so is to keep as much as i can the rule of the thirds regarding our little friend's head....
