lonebearimages 0 Posted September 23, 2010 Boy, I can sure relate to this! I have slogged up and down these dunes a lot myself, and it isn't easy. Great photograph of what we photographers have to go through to try and make a decent photograph. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

stp 6 Posted September 23, 2010 Tanni, I think this works exceptionally well for three reasons: 1) A long climb through soft sand is not easy, and many viewers will have had that experience and can relate to is. 2) The wind whipping sand off the crest lets me know this is not a casual stroll in quiet conditions, and it just adds to the challenge of making the shot. 3) The the photographer's shadow adds so much to the right side of the photo; that would be nearly empty space without the shadow. My only question is the very small area of rock where the sand intersects the left border; I think it might have been better to find a perspective that avoided this small amount of rock. Alternatively, a perspective that included more of it might have been viable. I think I'm looking for either nothing or more, so that the rock doesn't look like an oversight that was accidently included in the frame. Link to comment
tanni_thai 0 Posted September 24, 2010 Thank you All for viewing and for your comments/suggestions. Stephen - You are absolutely correct. I tried to cloned out the rock portion but unsuccessful due to my lack of skill in PS. What was left behind was a big mess around the dune's edge so I thought I should leave it the way it is ihihihi. Better try next time I hope. Thank you so much again for your detailed comments :) Tanni Link to comment
