This photograph is glorious in its simplicity and sleekness.  The shape of the descending sun and its mirrored image make me think of a burning hourglass, triggering some reflection on how quickly our days pass.

Outstanding work, Volker.

Very nice. Good to see (for a change) that the sea comes right to the front without a hint of a beach; that eliminates a difficulty with keeping the eye at the horizon, and makes the whole image balanced around said horizon. Very peaceful, tranquil, and at ease with itself.

Hi Dale, thanks for stopping by, it is a lake called Lake Steinhude (length around 12 km, width around 5 km), it is pretty shallow, deepest depth around 3 m, usually between 0.5 to 1.5 m only. It appeared after the last ice age and will be gone in few thousands years due to silting up (in a more or less natural process, OK, meanwhile enhanced by human activities such as eutrophication caused by intense agriculture...). BR / Volker
