dabar 0 Posted September 20, 2010 Very well done my friend! As for your negative opinion of the frame on my 'Propwash' image... I tried it with, and without the frame. The frame worked much better at producing the desired sense-of-depth I sought. Try it yourself...I know that, in general, you dislike frames and I tend to feel that they are often required to 'complete' an image. I do however consider your thoughts on the matter quite often... sometimes you are pleased, sometimes not. Ah well... Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 266 Posted September 20, 2010 I also think that the frames are needed! Especially on photographs with bright sky, for example and such things! In my comments I very often mention frames, suggest frames like these here and critique "fancy" frames which are not in the function of the image, those which contradict or exaggerate! Today we had two cases your place: Frames which are discrete and accomplish the picture and ones with too much self exposing, the blue ones! The same is with strokes, I very often see perfect images with incompatible color of strokes and that prevents me from rating with sevens! For, definitely the frames and strokes are part of the picture, we can't ignore them! I also think that the framing of canvas images of the great painters with heavily carved large frames is a tasteless act and it unfortunately happens all the time! Some experts for art do it!That's all for today dude! Cheers to that!PDE Link to comment

gungajim 75 Posted September 30, 2010 This must be the king and queen of a new type of chess game in which there are no winners - only pieces going in meaningless circles until their circle collapes over the edge. Cheers, GJ Link to comment

Pierre Dumas 266 Posted September 30, 2010 Jim, welcome back! These are relics by origin from the pagan period which have been accepted by the Orthodox Church. It was a common thing at the time when the Cristian religion were established on my home ground and elsewhere! Thank you for your visit! Cheers my friend!PDE Link to comment
