Guest Guest Posted September 18, 2010 Very moving capture of a beautiful model.Great light here and the sea scape add a nice atmosphere to this work, the graduated blue sky is of another great element and again it adds to the fine composition.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. Guest Guest Posted September 18, 2010 A very lively beach shot. Perhaps a little too much hair covering her face but not bad. Sometimes we don't have all the control we want in an image! There are two things that really stand out for my, sorry they are kind of pet peeves. First, the horizon is not straight. We all do it, but it is something that is very easy to fix. If you are running Photoshop, you can use the ruler tool, draw a line across the horizon, and then rotate it (arbitrary) automatically until its angle is zero. The second is reasonably sharp horizons (backgrounds). I find them very distracting. Granted, this is a DX camera, and that means shorter focal lengths, with accompanying longer depth of field. But DX or not, this is something that can be fixed in the camera several ways. It can also be fixed, as I have done here, in Photoshop. One, drop the ISO as low as it will go. Two, and probably the best method, is to use Neutral Density filters. When I shoot beach stuff, I shoot with no shorter a lens than my 105mm, and most often my 180mm, and never stop down past f/4. I do this by using either a 4x or 8x ND filter in front of the lens. Link to comment
marina 0 Posted September 19, 2010 HI Scott,Unfortunatedly my lense got broken so I had to take pics with a 28-90 . The horizon is a mistake, i must admit but about DOP I think it all has to do with your personal taste and preferences si I like the way I Took it. Anyway, thanks for your comment! Link to comment
wimputs 1 Posted September 19, 2010 A lovely shot.I don't mind the horizon, it's give an idea off the surrounding.I don't like the hair for her eye. Link to comment
