Good choices you made here in the framing, copmosition, and lighting.  Images such as you've presented here remind me that the time of day is often very important in coming up with a great image.  Your decision to capture when you did puts the emphasis right where it needs to be, and helps you to present some beautiful colors.

Hello Richard, I like the framing and the colours, too.  The image could perhaps be improved by increasing the exposure on the top half of the tree trunk, the foreground leaves and the background trees - just enough to reveal a little more detail. 

a charming composition... good use of the ambient light... perhaps too contrasty (which may have further darkened the trunk and the leaves)... i would reduce contrast and up brightness
