At mid day this old eagle was in a tree in the shade. Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300 VR @300, ISO 400 and F-11, spot meter at white feathers. Use camera's built in flash hoping to get a high light in its eye. Raw processed in PSCS3.

would love to have your Comments.

Wonderful clarity. On my monitor, I can't see any additional eagle below the white feathers. You could probably brighten that area if you wish to do so.

i love it. i really like the simple composition to this one. my only recommendation would be to slightly lighten the bird, like the other guy said. :)

Thanks for giving me your time.

Tony, I tried lightening it but the shade of the tree was too much and it looked bad.

Hi Ifti, the sharpness and the details are both great in the head, but still wish to see the head a tiny bit brighter. As most of the others have said the lower part of the bird is just too dark and almost lost in the background. I have opened this picture in photoshop and found there is no light value on the lower part of the bird. That means you can't do much to brighten that area. If you have a chance to re-shoot this bird, you may other setting like f/8 and with a bit higher ISO maybe.

Happy bird shooting Robert.
