Art,

the geometry in this image is great. All the lines that lead from (or to) the one point in the photo work very well. The color also is very nice.

Two small things I wondered about, but that might not work:

- did you try to get the point where all the lines converge to sharp, or would it result in the rest being too much out of focus?

- did you consider a square crop?

Altogether an image that I like a lot!

Kind regards, Stanislav

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments, this is very helpful and appreciated!

Stanislav, I tried different settings and points of view, but getting both the convergence point and twigs in focus was not possible, so had to choose a compromise for focus. At this macro distance, the region of focus is quite tiny! Did not try a square crop, will try and see, though may not allow the same kind of 'movement' and feeling but may create new ones! Thank you again for your comments!

Art,

ok, I see what you mean. The fact that most of the lines are not straight but rather curved does add an additional sense of movement, and taking away a part of the lines would reduce the curvature. A different option would be to try and crop a bit from below, slightly above the dark parts in the lower left and right corners. Again, just some suggestions that might not work.

I also like it a lot as it is!

Kind regards, Stanislav

Hello Art

You have made maximum out of this simple motive. I like it as it is and cant fingerpoint on any spot that should not be as it is. It works very well and I like this kind of motives where little is more.

Kind Regards

I stopped to take a closer look at your image, and I see that it has had the same effect on many others before me.  There is something very special about this simple composition and the curvy lines that makes it so appealing.  Well seen and nicely photographed.

That is a very nice and unique view of it. I love the yellowish back ground I does great to enhance the main subject. The composition is spectacular.
