I love this area and I think you captured it well.  The only thing that does not work for me is the partial puddle of water in the middle of the frame.  It is cut off so my eye wanders there.  The colors are real and not oversaturated.  Nice job.

Its easy to love this "area", it is something very unique. Good colors. And, yes, the sky - the clouds formation - is like a blessing, like the icing on top of the cake.

Good!

Regards.

Beautiful image ... love the tones of the rocks though i think the sky has been darked a bit too much towards the top for my liking ... and i agree with an early comment that the small pool of water right at the center is a bit distracting ... good work

Thank you all for comments! I will resubmit a version without the pool.

It somehow fascinated me (it was full of tadpoles). From the photogenic point, I now see how it can be distracting.

Best regards,

Marianna

I hope you have a shot from this visit that emphasizes the water feature. The contrast of water and dessert stone always seems to work. I agree, the little glimpse is not the best, hopefully you have other shots. By the way, is the dark sky from using a polarizing filter? Great lines and best regards.

Craig,

Yes, dark sky is from warming polarizer filter. I liked the effect and decided to keep as is (this is raw image, not changed in any way). I agree with you on the water in the desert, but this pool was just too wrong a color and too small.

I have a shot with it fully visible and it is not quite pretty. I want to come   back there in winter, should get it better than (if the road not impassable :) ).

Best regards,

Marianna

Ahhh... a beautiful image with interesting lines and  a killer sky. The puddle is a bit distracting but we take what nature gives us and make the best of a situation which is what you have done here. Hopefully you will make it back in the winter and wow us with another version of this amazing place  ;)

Warmregards, Pamela
