Guest Guest Posted September 14, 2010 John, this portrait works for me by all means.Your exposure well meet the beauty of this model and did lit her in a superb form, the contrast and tone again complements to this image plus the details gained is of very high quality. The eye contact and the pleasant expression on the model face are remarkable and so pleasant to the viewer, adding to all of that the well well balanced composition.Thank you for sharing such a touch of Pro. and wishing you all of the best. Guest Guest Posted September 15, 2010 John,She is a beautiful girl. You have focused very well on her eyes. I like the soft butterfly (Hollywood) lighting. Her make-up looks good. She has very nice specular highlights on her lips. The background is nicely neutral and she is well separated from it. She has good eye contact with the camera (viewer) and quite the sensual expression -- very nice. Her skin tone and the composition are excellent.Although the composition is excellent, the crop at the top worries me a bit. You are very close to just touching her hair with the top frame (a merger). It might be better to crop a little more into her hair -- like you really mean it -- or give her a little headroom. She has two catch lights in each eye. One catch light per eye is preferred. Remove the one below her pupil. The bright highlights on her earrings draw my attention away from her face. They are a bit annoying.I find her head position, turned back that far over her shoulder, to look a bit unnatural and uncomfortable for the girl.Sleeveless clothing in head and shoulders portraits can cause problems. You want the viewer’s eyes to go to the subject's face without constantly jumping to her arm or shoulder. You do not want her face to compete with any other light areas in your photograph. The advertisement (John BOUMA FOTOGRAFIE), especially in bright orange, is not part of the photograph. Your name could be properly placed on a mat surrounding the photograph. Any advertising would be better placed on the back of the photograph.Nice shot,Mark Link to comment
