Well composed image, perspective leads you in towards the bridge. I like the fresh vivid greens and of course the water as it's flow is emphasized by the long exposure.

The trouble with this type of shot is that there are so many of them that it is very hard to make one that has something new in it.

Hi Alf,

Very nice shot! Introducing the bridge breaks the rule and makes the shot standing out. The saturation adds to the freshness of the composition. All in all a very nice capture.

The winds on the lake put paid to any spectacular images, and so we

looked around for an alternative location, fortunately we found this. Your

thoughts and comments are always appreciated. I will be away for a few

days, hopefully catch up with everyone when I get back

Lovely range of green tones and excellent exposure and timing for the water flow. Very much in my old neck of the woods and will have to venture out there sometime.

Cheers.......John

Very amazing crystal clear sharpness in all areas of the picture with superb light/color balance and great composition made this capture extrabeautiful! Bravo. 7

The bold saturated colours really make this image pop.  The sharp detail of the rocks contrasting with the soft appearance of the water is very appealing.  Generally when I attempt to this type of photo I have to do considerable cleaning away of branches that would otherwise confuse and clutter the composition.  This photo has a very uncluttered feel to it.  Very nicely done!

Even though I was not there I have the perception that this is exactly the way I looked when you were taking the image. It is very good and very appealing.

Beautiful colors (especially the greens) and lighting.  Love the contrast and mood.   The only thing I might offer as a suggestion would be to darken the white of the top-most waterfall.  IMO it seems a little bright and washed out.  Still, another excellent shot.

Cheers...

TIBI

Many thanks for your kind words and feedback. I know exactly what you mean about getting something new into the frame, I guess it's like taking a photo of an Iconic building or famous place, it may have been done a million times before, but at the end of the day you can only do your own version of it to the best of your ability. In fact when you think about it, there isn't much in the way of landscapes that hasn't been done before. I might have got lucky and a herd of water buffalo come stomping through the water creating a splashing photographic bonanza, but thats hardly likely to happen on a Welsh mountain stream : -)

Cheers Tibi

ART

Many thanks for your feedback and kind words. I did try cropping this image to comply more with the "thirds" rule, but wasn't happy with of the things I tried. No matter which way I tried it, the original still looked best to me.

Kind Regards

Alf

PATSY

Many thanks for your visit and kind comments. You are quite right, we stumbled on this place by accident after taking a short cut on a lonely back road, it was so out of the way, I doubt that many people will have photographed it before.

Warm Regards

Alf

JOHN

Sincere thanks for your feedback and kind words. I might have misled you slightly with the title of this one.  I think maybe the "Moss Valley" you may be thinking of is in Wrexham, but this place is quite near the Mawwdach estuary, near Arthog. Because I couldn't find the name of the river on the maps I had available I stole the name from the former mentioned location. Sorry about that mate!

Kind Regards

Alf

JIM

Many thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback, very much appreciated! I know just what you mean about the "cluttered" syndrome in these shots, I moved to four different locations along the stream for that very reason, before I stopped at this one, even then, the dead branches on the right contrived to irritate my sensitive eye, but after some consideration I decided that I had crossed enough slippery rocks for one day with my precious camera and tripod precariously balanced, and that attempting any more might just be tempting fate too much! Thanks again Jim.

TONY

Sincere thanks for your invaulable feedback, very much appreciated! I bracketed 5 shots of this scene, but the resulting HDR just didn't look right, and I opted to blend just two. One with a fast shutter speed to avoid movment in the leafs on the trees, and the other with a slower speed to give the water a sense of movement. The colours though are pretty much as seen.

Cheers Tony

JERRY

Many thanks for your kind words and thoughts, much appreciated! I think you are right, the upper part of the stream does look overly bright, I might have inadvertantley erased part of the layer by mistake in that area, well spotted Jerry and thank you for pointing it out.

Alf

HARRY

Sincere thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback, much appreciated! I tried to get the bridge in a classic "thirds" type position in the frame, but couldn't seem to manage it from the vantage points available, still I'm pleased that you think it works as it is.

Cheers Harry!

You make me want to get out my tripod, which I'm usually loathe to do.  But there's no other way to get such pristine crispness.  Bumping up the color a bit works well to create a lush world.

Thanks for looking in and for the positive feedback, much appreciated. I know what you mean about tripods, they can be so obtrusive when your out and about climbing, stretching, trying to get the right composition etc, but mine now goes everywhere with me, and you tend to get used to it after a while.

Excellent composition with most interesting foreground.  Movement depicted by the water is very effective. Vivid greenery makes this image a pleasure to view. Congratulations and best regards . . . john

You know Alf, if I didn't know better I could swear this is a shot from the woods somewhere here in Canada.  I'm so glad you ventured out into the woods, as it is just a beautiful composition, processed in your 'signiture' Skillful way you always display.  Very different from the beautiful English Seascapes.  Just Lovely!  Most sincerely, Gail

GAIL

I hope you are keeping well and of course your Mum too after her recent stay in hospital. My thoughts are with you.

We are very fortunate in the UK to have such diverse countryside and shorelines sometimes within minutes of each other, but I must confess Canada is one of my dream destinations, I will make it there one day, and even if I don't capture a single image, I will have experienced it and seen it with my own eyes, I have just returned from Norway and that was a magical experience, the scale of the country in particular the mountains was mind blowing. I just know Canada is going to have a similar effect on my senses. Sincere thanks for your visit and positive feedback Gail
