Fade to Black

The scene was much darker than presented here. The log exposure collected light and allowed detail visible than was not obvious to the ey at the time of exposure. I moved my grad ND up and down during the image to avoid and hard transition between clouds and land. Single exposure. Artist: Photographer: Harry Lichtman;

This scene was much darker than presented here.  The long exposure collected light and allowed detail visible than was not obvious to the ey at the time of exposure.  I moved my grad ND up and down during the image to avoid and hard transition between clouds and land.  Single exposure of 10 seconds.  I particularly like the gentle wave formation created by the cloud's movement during the exposure.  The water movement was much faster than the cloud movement, which allowed me to present the clouds in a more stationary form.  While streaming clouds have their place and sometimes unavoidable during long exposures, I personally think they have been over done and over used.  I have tried to include a nice mix of cloud movement in my Glacier images.
