This looks like a very beautiful place.  I live in Arizona and am familiar with the colors of the rocks and cactus.  In my humble opinion they don't need this extra saturation and colorization to be beautiful.  If you did this to add more drama I think you achieved it - if you were hoping to capture the feeling of the place I think the saturation did not work.
