pnital 36 Posted September 11, 2010 The image is part of a danceI have photographed again, and I think it needs some explanation The story is about a day in the life of a schizophrenic woman, and her relations with a man, which is the "Dancer's Portrait " The name of the dance is: " Coffee, Night light and a cigarette".... Anat dances the woman's role, excelently prformed and Jula here is her partner. This time is a series of tri, my interpretation of part of a very good chorography. Other parts of the dance can be seen in this file. Thanks for viewing Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted September 11, 2010 Well composed, well captured and rich with wonderful B&W tones! Ciao Pnina!PDE Link to comment
tibig 0 Posted September 11, 2010 I like the forceful lines and balanced composition. There is a very interesting contrast between on one side the statuesque on the other the spontaneity that you captured.Regards, Tibi Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted September 12, 2010 I think you've drawn attention to her tattoos . Here she is -- "imperfect" hair -- finger in her mouth like a teenager trying to decide what to do. It's incongruously part of her image in a dancer outfit, graceful sash and stylized chair. The material on the floor in front of her reminds me of a garter belt one sees at weddings, which is removed after the ceremony in front of everyone. If she's contemplating marriage, it surely would be different than that of the religious bride series you shot. I like this expression of hers; it's relatable, a modern day dance variation of "The Thinker." Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 13, 2010 Every part of her pose conveys grace, even with her disheveled hair and her tattoos. The line of that cloth draping off into oblivion does a great job conveying her unraveling thoughts. Link to comment
andrea allison 0 Posted September 13, 2010 Very nice Pnina, your choice of B/W gives to the drama , lovely tones. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted September 15, 2010 Pierre, thanks for your feedback.Tibi, thanks for writing your feelings , I try always to wait for the right moment when a movement expresses the mood.Donna, thanks for an interesting interpretation of this scene. The whole dance choreography is related to human relations between a man and woman, in different mental condition.( see older photos of this dance performed by Anat Gregorio and Yula. It is the second time I photo this dance ( with two other dance creations of Anat G.) BTW,she is tattooed in her every day life...."A modern day dance variation of "The Thinker", is a very interesting Analogy, thanks!Jeff, she is a graceful human being in everyday life, I worked with her for quite a long time on building this choreography, so it shows on her dance as well.Andrea, Alberto and Amal, thanks for your witting your expressions to me.much appreciated. Christal1664882414 0 Posted September 18, 2010 Powerful and emotional series, Pnina. Well crafted from a technical aspect as well. That's the strength of your work as I see it....capturing on camera the inner dialog. Each viewer interprets your work slightly differently, which is in essence the definition of art. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted September 19, 2010 Kallol, thanks for your nice feedback I'm glad you like it and wrote to me. Christal, It is the second time I photo this dance, which I see as part of life, expressed in an artistic form. I always look to find the touch of our human life as a metaphorical / transformation . I think that art in general has a meaning( for me) when there is a connection /dialogue to/with our spirit, thoughts , and emotions. The inner ones as well as the external .Thanks for expressing it so eloquently. Link to comment
