Lester: Good colors, I very much like the sky, it almost looks like a storm is coming.  I do think a little selective sharpening on the boat and family would make this photo just that much better.  Tom

This is indeed a very charming picture. Boats at angle form a nice composition on the tranquil waters. Good FG and vibrant color clothing of the people. Sky with its clouds is dramatic. <P> I took it in PSCS3  adjusted color to make the blouse white it lightened the dark green water a bit. I increase highlight of the clouds and then gave a medium contrast in curves. It simply popped out. Try it and see if you like. Regards, ifti.

I am particularly captivated at the moment by the way people can add a great deal of impact, to what would surely (in this case) have been a great landscape shot anyway. I have gone to great pains in the past to ensure that not a solitary human figure would get into any of my shots. It is only recently that I have become aware of how much influence the presence of the human form can have on an image. I think this is demonstrated here very well.  Without the human element, this image would have looked moody and peaceful, the people have added colour, vigor and life and yes a great deal of atmosphere too.

Nice work Lester!

Alf

Lester. congratulations for this beautiful picture. The perspective and colourful are fantastic, for me, the best is the composition, it is a scene of real life.  7

Maurizio, thank you for your kind words.

Tom, I did try to do selective sharpening and it did improve the quality of the image. Thanks a lot.

Harry, thanks for dropping a line. I have one more image to post from this series.

Jef, Hamid & Ricardo, thanks too.

Iftikhar, your suggestion works well. Thanks for your observation.

Alf, I also share the same idea that a human element would definitely add colour to a landscape but it may not be shared by everybody from my observation. Correct me if I'm wrong. I very much appreciate your comments.

Esteban & Pierre, thanks for your wonderful comments.

As already mentioned the composition is really nice. Great lines made by the boats. I like insight in the family life. The colors and the reflection of the sky is very nice too. Regards, Jean-Marc
