Hi Jordan, Pierre, Thanks for dropping by.

This was made by adapting the technique used to make "photospheres". Instead of using a 360 deg. pano, I experimented here with about 180 deg. Of course the problem is that the ends have different brightness and don't join up very well. Anyway, what you do is change the  image size so that the length is the same as the height and you have a squished up square. Then apply Filter, Distort, Polar coordinates and you get the fish eye effect looking upwards. Invert the squished up square image and run the filter to get the view looking down - it looks like a minature planet hanging in the sky. I did a little tidying up, added the gondola from another shot, and voila! Of course, if you are not comfortable with PS you could hang upside down from a helicopter with a fisheye lens....
Night shots with a black sky eliminate the blending problems with a short pano.
Cheers, RickDB

Thanks for taking the time to comment - just a bit of fun, and not a bad way to present a long, thin panorama which doesn't show very well on PN. Cheers, RickDB
