Was this taken as a close-up or cropped down to this detail? There's an intimacy with the subject that doesn't seem echoed by the technical aspects of the photo. His skin against the green looks great. There's a lilting, floating quality to it.

Thanks, Fred.  It was shot from perhaps twenty feet away with a telephoto zoom, then cropped down when I saw that it would have been better closer. I shot it from where I was because I knew the moment and the pose would not last.
