Yeah I know it's been done before, but I just couldn't resist taking the

long exposure against the vivid colours of this particular evening. I have

done very little to this image, some sharpening, contrast and

desaturation. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated.

Thank You.

A very attractive shot Alf, with only the one small problem that you have already realized.  But, it is only a note, while the rest of the composition is very well done.  You have mastered the light excellently.  I particularly like how the metal on the dock is highlighted in the failing light.  I bow and wish you the best...

This is beautiful! I feel as if I could step right into the photo and sit at the end of the pier, dangle my feet in the water and enjoy the rest of the sunset! Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)

Well this is going right into my favorites. The amazing clarity you achieve in your photos always gets me. This one is a perfect mirror image of the sky and water. The walkway leading to the right takes my eye right to the row of lights. Just awesome work Alf. Take care.

Best Regards,

Holger

Awesome work Alf! Love those deep blues, and luscious orange, tones,  the superb composition with it's great use of leading lines, and the lights of the buildins along the right side. Excellent image!

All the best,
Neil

Nice work Alf.  I feel that most images we do have already been done before in one way or the other, what's important is how you apply your vision, and your emotions to a certain situation when you make an image. The colors and composition of this image brings tranquil solitude to my mind. A bridge that leads half way to others, but doesn't reach.  Well seen and captured.  Regards - michel

What I like about this is the way the dock leads me in and the depth...it feels as if there is great distance/open space for the viewer to consider.

There are a number of images inside of this one great shot. I would like to see this dock with only the water & sky...no land or buildings to distract my eyes. I could sit all day in a peaceful place like that and wonder what is out there  ;)

Take care my friend,

Pamela

The best seascape I've seen on PN for a long time! Very well thought through, captured and presented. The colors are extraordinary and very close to reality - really eye catching.  In summary, this is a tutorial how to present a scene attractively without photoshopping to death...Chapeau Alf, a master piece!

DAVE

Many thanks for your thoughts and invaluable feedback, I really do appreciate it. Originality can prove to be elusive at times, but I did get a shot the same evening that I will post later this week, that gets a bit closer to original.

Cheers Dave

It was one of those extraordinary evenings, when the colours were so vivid, that people actually stopped to talk and comment about it, whilst others stopped thier cars and took photo's with mobile phones. Sincere thanks for your thoughts and kind comments Trisha.

Many thanks for your kind words, much appreciated! I suppose it's a case of being in the right place at the right time, photography dictates that kind of thing, going to bed late, getting up early, all the things you shouldn't do to maintain a healthy lifestyle........is it worth it......Damm right it is! : - )

Kind Regards

I think you have raised a valid point. As you say, most places of aesthetic beauty have been visited and photographed at some time or another, but perhaps not exactly the same, not with the same light or from the same angle, or at the same time of day or with the same colours. And also again as you have said, maybe not with the same mood , atmosphere and feeling. I really appreciate your visit and feedback Michel Thank you.

PAMELA

Hello Pamela I hope you are keeping well!  Many thanks for your visit and invaluable feedback I really do appreciate it. Ideally those buildiings (waterside apartments)  would be have been built elsewhere, as it's not possible to get that dock without them, well not from that particular angle anyway. But I will check out that file to see if I've got it from another angle. I have got the water, sunset and lovely little sailing dinghy from that evening that I will post shortly, when I get round to processing it. Cheers Pamela.

Take good care!

Sometimes I can be quite verbose but this time i will simply say "Perfection" IMHO. If it means anything 7/7. Congrats.
