lake in Southeast Asia. Green moss gather near the dock and water lilies

come near shore during this time of the year. Rainy season has come on a

stormy morning, August being typhoon month in the Philippines. Thank

Lester, from the first time I got a glimpse of this tumbnail, I knew it wold be quite fascinating when I viewed larger...and I have not been disappointed.  From the moody treatening sky to the beautiful colors of the boat and water, it is  a gem.  Your exacting detail of the interior of the boat to the bamboo of the fishing rod, and the wrapped sail, it is a most interesting  image. Having never travelled to this part of the world, I always find the boats so interesting.  This could have been a very plain compositon, but you have managed to bring it into the 'limelight.' Very good perspective and colors and contrasts of colors (the green-greyish hues of the water versus the strong colors of the boat versus the dark blue-greyish hues of the sky and the clouds). Fascinating and aesthetic contrasts of shapes and patterns as well. BR / Volker

The colors here are superb.  From the dark, threatening clouds, to the faint pink on the horizon that also reflects in the water, the bright green of the foreground water, and the contrasting yellows, blues, and browns of the boat -- it's just beautiful.
