Many times under the hot summer sun, the humidity this year had me

almost 'forcng' myself to keep on taking shots. Quite often I'd find

myself feeling 'limp' and parched, just like my 'subjects'. Having

worked in Garden Centres, I'd often get chatting with some of the Staff,

sharing stories about how I often wondered how I managed to 'get

throught the day'. Hopes of less humid days seemed to be a common

subject....and they somehow enjoyed conversing with someone who

could relate to how they felt. Taking care of these blooms is not an

easy job. Plant lovers seem to be the ones that could keep the 'stock'

looking their best. I always found it unfortunate that these folks are

often paid the least, as it is classed as 'Seasonal Work'....withiout the

comforts of indoor air conditioning. You learn to appreciate those who

are cheerful and truly care about the plants, for they daily show

their 'dedication' to our 'Beautiful Blooms of Summer'. (thanks for

viewing, Gail)

Gorgeous image Gail! These spidery plants look excellent against your artistica background. Creative, and original. Well done Lass!

May be we could get the weather to average out between your end of the country, and Mine? Just the opposite here. Long cold spring, followed by a cool unsettled summer, and looks like an early fall.

All the best,
Neil

Thankyou for sharing your enthusiastic thoughts on this image.  Funny, I have thought about this image for so long and almost tossed it...but I am learning more and more that even if a shot is not perfect, I can make use of it, especially when being creative.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could combine not only the elements but the countryside, I do miss the mountains.  But you are my source of 'memory' nowadays.  I'm not sure when I will get back. I had to get my liscence renewed yesterday, and I spoke to a woman just in front of me,  in line.  She said she came from Lethbridge, had just moved here, and the mountains around the Banff, Lake Louise area were what she would miss most.  The big drawback she found was the cost of living in that area.

Although you do make good use of Winter also, a longer warm season wold certainly help you out a lot.  Your Spring/Summer/Fall sometimes has to be almost one word.  I do hope you don't see Winter as soon as October, which has happened before.  Have fun with what good weather you have left.  I am awaiting thunderstorms at the moment.  Cheeers for now Neil and thankyou once again for your welcome visit.  Sincerely, Gail

This is a work of art with stunning colours and hues. I have no idea what effects you used, but the results have worked perfectly! Well done Gail for a very artistic and original interpretation. 6/7 best wishes from Malta . . . John

I really enjoyed your photo Gail. So creative, colorful and artistic in your composition and processing. I took a photo of a beautiful rose and posted it on my PN site but even as pretty as it is, I would like to have added some of the creative and artistic processing you are able to do. I also enjoyed reading your narrative, It really helps hear the story behind the photo. The journey & adventure and the feeling behind a photo really add personality and emotion to a photo. Once again Gail, Great work. Take care, have a great Labor day weekend.  Paul P.

The message here seems to me to be "Mom... How can you bloom like that... I'm parched."

Gail, Beautifully done. It is certainly evocative of late summer with the wonderful colors having just a hint of the cooler autumn days ahead.
