I'm just revisiting my files from this spring. I still have alot of worthy images to process, but finding time to get to all of it is challenging. One or two at a time is the only way. This one will look similar to another from my spring collection, but I prefer the sky in this scene, showing more of the wispy cirrus clouds feathering upwards. This was one of the most concentrated field of flowers I have ever witnessed and I was feeling exalted from the experience. As the angels took flight, I reveled in the moment. Then I did what I always do. I pointed my camera towards the spectacle and fired away. Thanks for your observations!

Wonderful shot Mark, you certainly handled the exposure very well, especially the tree which I would have thought challenging. Thanks again also for your recent advice, I 've been snowed under this week and haven't had chance to really put it to the test, but I will eventually get round to it and let you know how the results look.

Once again, well done on an outstanding result, Dave.

Thanks John, Paul, David and Ricardo! Hope that quick tutorial can be of help David. If you get stuck on anything, let me know by email. As well, if I can ever help with any processing concerns, I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve. Don't hesitate to ask!

Very innovative and aesthetic capture of a Californian landscape. Very often, such hillsides carrying these types of mighty solitaire trees standing in abundant green (throughout the summer more yellow...) meadows are so beautiful already in daylight. Here, you are adding highly aesthetical features: 1. the meadow covered by these myriads of colorful flowers, 2. the atmosphere showing these powerful red-orange-yellow hues of the clouds against the blue firmament after sunset (or before sunrise). Both contribute to an exceptionally splendid view and  compo. Simply stunning, impressive. BR / Volker

Thank you Volker, Saleem and Mike! How'd you know Mike. When I saw this unfolding, the first thing coming to mind was indeed "AUBURN!". I then looked out over the orange flowers and green grass and thought "GO HURRICANES!". Then I glanced at the Oak Tree and shouted "OAK TREES! RaRaRa Sishcoomba!". Then I considered the camera I was using and cheered "Click, Snap, who are we....Pentaxians, Pentaxians, K10D!".

Mark, I see you are still putting out these spectacular airy, ethereal images. It would have been spectacular even without the flowers. Very well balanced and presented. Now where is this tutorial you're talking about?

Gorgeous image Mark! That's one unbelievable patch o flowers, backed by a fantastic sky. When you add in the tree, the superb composition, the expert photographic and processing skills, it's nothing short of spectacular. Awesome work of art my friend!

All the best,
Neil
