I think I should explain why I captioned this image as 'Protection'.

Snails have a thick shell, but  it is not good enough to protect themseves from attacks of ants and carabid bettles, because it is imposiible to close the shell mouth. To protect itself against such small enemies, the snails produce large amounts of watery slime bubbled-up with air.Ants are caught in the slime and are prevented from reaching the snail.

you have captured an unusual (and at least to me, unknown,) facet of this creature! i like the pov and composition -- the veins of the frond flaring out from under the snail form a pleasing backdrop and provide an appropriate environment

Amal, I have yet learned another lesson in 'nature'......thanks to you. "Nature' in all of it's wisdom and the ability to adapt to change, has provided  the snail with te ability to'protect' itself from so many dangers.  Great shot and timing of capture.  Thankyou for sharing Amal, most sincerely, Gail

Amal, I like your primary focus on the bubbles here ( & especially after reading the interesting information you provided with it :-) -- In addition, I think that the photo has very nice diagonal lines & rays as well... Compliments & best regards, Marjolein
