Fabulous light playing on the stones in front of the synagogue!  I love the intricate carvings of the Zodiac signs, the prayer for protection of women, and the fact that the tzeddakah sign is also in English -- so non-Hebrew speakers can find it and do charity too ....

Fascinating doorfront, Meir.  What are the different time clocks for I am wondering. A shul without many windows to distract worship I am thinking. And an amazing door of wonderful panels.  Good photo indeed. aloha, gerry

Thank you again very much for commenting. There is in the neighborhood  a cistern which was used years ago before there was a state of Israel. The cistern collected the rain water during the winter for dry months later on. Jerusalem does not get one drop of rain from about Easter until the fall.

The clocks are set for the times for evening, morning and afternoon prayers. The leftt column for the sabbath and the right for weekdays. No idea what the middle column is for. As you know the times change according to sunset/sunrise.
