Thanks for viewing/comments! - This shot is very much the longest

reach that I have with the 1D Mark III + 1.4X + 500mm and even though

the shot was done on a tripod + gimbal head on the rocking sailboat

platform that makes it's even more difficult. Thanks to Canon IS the shot

seems ok!

The focus seems pretty sharp, (I viewed it large), very nice photo.

Thanks Jim! It's not the best of quality but for the ~ 910mm reach of this setup on a bobbling sailboat I find the shot acceptable and probably is a great statement to Canon IS. :-)

He looks tougher than the california baldies.  Pretty good, as it was shot from a bobbing boat!

Thanks Monte! My Bro' (who owns the sailboat and lives in Seattle) told me he is not impress with these eagles since they look rather small compare to those he had seen in / around the pudget sound. I plan to verify that next year around this time to go up to Seattle and shoot eagles in Washington state. :-)

this is a great shot regardless of the conditions. The fact it was from a bobbing boat is a credit to you as well as the IS.
