KenPapai 37 Posted August 26, 2010 Nice POV. Multi-layered -- horizon reflected yet you have the pier snaking though the lower half (somewhat humorous for a serious shot). Nice, flat water.Exposure is perfect and this is a HAPPY mood to me.-Ken Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted August 26, 2010 MICHAELSincere thanks for your visit and kind comments, the meandering walkway and moored boats were the things that immediately got my attention, unfortunately the walkway was cordoned off to my left, otherwise I would have ventured further onto it for a few more shots.Cheers Michael.AlfHARRYMany thanks for your very kind comments. As you are a well traveled photographer and regular visitor to the lakes, I am honoured that you consider this a favourite.Cheers Harry!PAMELAGood to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well. I'd like to take credit for rising early, but as usual theres another story behind my appearance at this hour in the morning, and it's probably too long to type here, but it involves a 6ft 2in Man (me) trying to sleep in the back of an Astra Van without any creature comforts such as sleeping bags etc. (Never again) I was curled up for so long in one position, when I finally got out I looked like a question mark! Many thanks for your very kind comments Pamela.Warm RegardsAlf JORGEMany Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback, it really is a very peaceful place at this time in the morning, it does get a busy later on though.Kind RegardsAlfALBERTOSincere thanks for your visit and generous comments, much appreciated!Kind RegardsAlfGAILMany thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate your feedback.Kind RegardsAlfANNE Late evening / early morning are my favourite times, not only is it peaceful and tranquil but in most cases it coincides with the best possible light for photographs too. Many thanks for your feedback and kind words Anne.Best RegardsAlfNEILSincere thanks for your very generous comments, very much appreciated!Kind RegardsAlfKEITHI do like to get up early, but in this case it was kind of by default, (attempting to sleep in an Astra Van wasn't one of my better idea's). Thank you for the visit and kind comments Keith.Kind RegardsAlfBOBBYMany thanks for your visit and kind words, much appreciated!Kind RegardsAlfISABELLESincere thanks for your visit and kind words, the Lake District is a magical place to be at any time, but lovely to see at this time of day.Warm RegardsAlfJEFFMany thanks for your visit and feedback, much appreciated! The graduated colour change was something that attracted me also.Kind RegardsAlfPATSY Many thanks for your feedback and kind words, much appreciated!Cheers Patsy!AlfADRIENNESincere thanks for your feedback and generous comments. The local people take great pride in conserving the area, and making sure it's kept clean and tidy, and even though there is a multitude of boats on this lake, the waters remain crystal clear. It's a great place to visit.Kind RegardsAlfRAZAQThank you for your interest, much appreciated!Kind RegardsAlfRUUD I appreciate your visit and kind comments, thank you !Kind RegardsAlfKEN It is good to have your thoughts and feedback. I'm really pleased you found an element of humour in the shot, and after some consideration I can see what you mean, the meandering walkway does conjure visions of "There was a crooked man that walked a crooked mile" kind of scene. "HAPPY" is what I aim for Ken and I'm very pleased you enjoyed it.Many Thanks and Kind RegardsAlf Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Alf, A beautiful photograph. I love the way the pier winds through the foreground. Wonderful color and detail, the reflection of the sun on the water is incredible. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted August 27, 2010 Why your work isn't hanging in a "Gallery" all on it's own is beyond me Alf. You should be busy with 'shows' all the time. This image is just beautiful. Words of mine will not truly convey all that is excellent about it but my meagre words ...well..there is a miriad of material to take in, from the wonderful winding dock, your POV, detail, georgeous reflections from the lights on the land to the reflections from that lovely evening sky.I haven't even begun to talk about the detial in the charming boathouses, condos, boats....a wonderful depth to this image in the color and light. Congrats to you. I've thoroughly enjoyed this 'work of art'...thankyou for sharing your images with us all...most sincerely, Gail Link to comment
